WHAT IS DESIGN FOR SCREEN: Black Liquid

This video is outstanding, I love the imaginative motions of the shapes and the transitions from shape to shape. The liquid looks perfectly 3d, the reflection and highlights are very realistic and their characteristics in relation to movement are spot on. The music and visuals go hand in hand to put out a nice piece of design for screen.

WHAT IS DESIGN FOR SCREEN: Parkway Drive Myspace

Another one of my favourite bands myspaces but still a really nice piece of Design. The Vintage italic tattoo style type on the deep blue backdrop works well together drawing your eyes straight into the web pages content.  I also really like the illustration in the background, the range of blues and blacks drives the shape of the design, the backdrop of the city helps to draw your eyes down the page.

WHAT IS DESIGN FOR SCREEN: Cracked Type

Broken type by Stefan Chinof

I love how the type has been altered so that it is still very readable but at the same time reflects and element of  madness. The shards of glass and cracked edges give the type definition and effect.

WHAT IS DESIGN FOR SCREEN: WW2 posters

Artist Brian Moore has re-produced a series of old WWII posters in a more modern style relating to websites we use everyday. The aged, worn feel the posters have to them combined with the humour behind them makes them makes these 2 posters very visually engaging.

WHAT IS DESIGN FOR SCREEN: pixels

This video is amazing! To replicate New York in pixels must of been a very hard job. I like the way the different blocks interact with the city overtaking them one block at a time.

WHAT IS DESIGN FOR SCREEN: Handcrafted Type Ivan Kostynyk

I can really appreciate the skill behind this hand crafted type below due to being able to see it come to life starting from an initial sketch. Because the piece has been hand rendered rather than produced digitally i think it makes the outcome seem more worthwhile. The letters glide from one to another and flow as a whole logo, good colour scheme.

WHAT IS DESIGN FOR SCREEN: NIDO number Illustraton

Reminds me of old William Morris Wallpaper, this typeface is hard on the eyes but works well. I like the curvature to each bowl of the numbers adding a feel of movement to each one.

WHAT IS DESIGN FOR SCREEN: Helvetitoc

The website below tells you the time presenting it to you in black capital helvetica. Its a different way of looking at the typeface, pushing it to its limits and showing that its able to work perfectly time and time again. The layout is interesting and not your normal centered webpage, great idea executed well.
