Ryan Berkleys animal illustrations work really well because of the detail in his linework and the concept behind his pieces. I like his work because of the irregular subject matter he uses and the way he leaves you thinking. His work is very organic, using soft neutral colours and following a theme of animals wch could reflect nature. I like the expression of the different faces of the animals and the character it creates in your head.
The highlights and shadows in his work are outstanding, the animals fur has been made to look very realistic because of the way he has drawn each individual parting in the hair.
I would like to use his style to influence my own illustration.
